We are thrilled to announce the launch of our website and our inaugural event, which will take place on October 17th, 2024. This event marks the beginning of our journey to celebrate and amplify the rich diversity of Asian talent in the media, arts, and culture.
Our Story
Asian Persuasion was founded by Joni after realizing that there were not many artists in the music scene who looked like her. The rise in anti-Asian hate crimes during the pandemic underscored the need for action and representation. Recognizing the absence of Asian role models in the arts, Joni decided to create a platform to foster and highlight Asian talent.
In 2022, we hosted our first tryout event featuring only Asian music artists. This initial success provided valuable connections and experience, paving the way to take this project to the next level. With the addition of co-founder Christopher, we are committed to learning, growing, and fighting for increased Asian representation in all creative fields.

At Asian Persuasion, our mission is to provide a platform for Asian artists and creatives to showcase their talents and share their stories. We are dedicated to breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes, and promoting greater representation and visibility of Asian people in all creative fields. By fostering a supportive and inclusive community, we aim to create a more diverse and inclusive society.

As we currently self-fund all our activities, we welcome any support from our community. It will help us organize more events, panel discussions, podcasts, and even research on Asian representation in media and society.
